A lot of people ask themselves "Where Is the Love?" Where did it disappear?
Well, love is hidden inside all of us, but love was buried and suffocated by us.
Why? Because false media and false idols grow us to love ourselves, not others.
But what is love?
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
After reading this, now tell me what kind of so-called "love" we can see today.
We can see only self-love. We don't care about the needs of others, only about ours.
"I must graduate, I must be the smartest, the most beautiful and the most popular. I must have better clothes than xy - I must be always well-dressed. I want to be successful and have a lot of money, I want to have a good job, an amazing family..."
I know this from my own class where girls are really very competitive about which one of them is the best- dressed, best-looking, smartest. I used to be competitive too, but later I started to not care about what they think.
Sometimes I feel like I'm at fashion show, not at school.
A lot of young people have Instagram. I want to explain why I don't have one:
1.Everybody posts there really everything, especially girls who think they are stars when they have a lot of deviant followers.
2.People just praise there with their property, body, good meal and I don't know what. I find it very vain and narcissistic.
Smile isn't modern anymore...
Why? Because people just mimic these false idols
People should rather help and care about others. But they only love themselves. This is
our society.
Love is gone exactly because of this self-love.
It is exact opposite of true love.
Girls wear still more make-up, still more boys think they aren't attractive to girls until they have a muscular body.
They want to be attractive and look like those in magazines with retouched faces and bodies.
Well, I don't say going to gym, wearing make-up or modern clothes are bad things, but young people think these things are those which is the whole life about. If you aren't "cool" enough, bad luck, you don't fit in.
But the best things aren't things.
It's all just too superficial for me. People started to extremely care
about their bodies and extremely not care about their souls. They really
think that the physical things define what's within.
I really recommend you to watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTU3JuZuZS8
English subtitles are in settings. This rapper describes these times very well.
And this is what God says about narcissism in this message: http://www.thewarningsecondcoming.com/narcissism-an-evil-epidemic-present-in-the-world-today/
This message is so true, I always felt the same about that inside, but I couldn't express it by words.
And this message clearly says how it really is.
Young people suffer from lack of love, that's why they try to engage the attention on them so bad.
But these things bring just emptiness to their souls and lives.
They try to reach real love, but they can't. Why? Because self-love is selfish and it isn't true love.
True happiness is when you can make others happy -
that's love and that is the thing what brings happiness and love to both parties.
